Daivi started in the program in 2019 and is already a hit with the Veterans. Daivi was a trained show horse for driving competitions in his previous career. He is trained in the Fundamentals and can be ridden in English or Western and also pulling a cart or sleigh. Daivi is fairly high in the pecking order of the herd, so he takes a confident leader and then he will do what you want to do. He loves going out on the trail with the Veterans and loves to be groomed. He is a very people orientated horse and is always looking for treats, so make sure to only use the treat pan when giving treats. No hand feeding of any of our horses.

Magnum is a BIG horse in a little body! He started in our program in 2019. He has been trained with the Fundamentals and knows everything the big horses do when it comes to groundwork exercises, and round penning. Magnum is broke to ride and also drive. He works well with Veterans in wheel chairs and loves attention. He is also our Spokesperson horse when attending other events, as he is very personable, and knows how to make a person feel at ease around horses.

Born: April 7, 2017 Height 16 hands Weight: 1200 lbs

Copper Shine is a Thoroughbred Race Horse that was too slow out of the gate on the race track, he is an energy conservationist at heart! He came to us from the State of Florida. He was born on April 7, 2017 and is 16 hands and weighs 1200 lbs. Copper loves helping the Veterans build confidence and self- esteem. He is a wonderful trail horse and loves going through the obstacles on the mountain trail course. He is very playful with the other geldings and can be a little of a comedian is getting the other horses in a playful mood.

First of all Fred wants you to know that he is a REALLY BIG DEAL! Fred is the very first Frederiksborg Danish Warmblood to be born in the United States. Fred is 16.2 hands tall, and weigh 1450 lbs. He is nine years old, and his color is called Isabella. (or light palomino). Everyone refers to Fred as the fund raising horse as he likes to pick pockets of his riders. He thinks he is one of the cool horses in the class since he can always manage to make everyone laugh at his shenanigans. Fred is trained in dressage, jumping, extreme trail, driving a cart, barrel racing, and mountain trail and camping. His owner Debbi Fisher even has Houdini lock on his stall door that does not keep him in, so he has to have extra chains to keep him in his stall so he does not let all the other horses out of their stalls. You may want to ask for his autograph as he has been on TV , nationally, as well a motion picture and has been on the front page of the Seattle Times newspaper and other shows other newspapers. Just remember he is a really BIG Deal!

Born May 28, 2002, Height: 15.3 hands, Weight: 1050 lbs

Cutter's owner is a Vietnam Veteran that can't ride anymore and wantted Cutter to be able to help other veterans like he did himself. Cutter has spent a lot of time out in the wilderness with the Back Country Horsemen helping to build riding trails as well as being a leader for young horses out on the trail. He is very smooth in his gaits and is definitely a Cadillac to ride. He will start his first session with the veterans here in 2022.

Born: March 23, 2001 Height 15 hands Weight 1000 lbs.

Justice’s prior owner Linda Fisher-Lewis a retired police officer also knew what a value this program is to our veterans and wounded soldiers, and knew that her horse Justice was up to the task. Justice is a very sure footed horse up in the mountains trail riding and camping; he also works cows, extreme mountain trail and does drill team.

Justice is trained in the Fundamentals of Downunder Horsemanship and was one of the founding horses for equine therapy here in the Northwest in 2010. Justice does very well with Veterans that have suffered physical injuries.

Born: January 16, 2002 Height: 15.2 hands Weight: 1150 lbs

Vision is a very successful show horse in trail classes, Western and English for 4-H, as well as APHA horse shows, and also a consecutive two year championship winner for the Rainier High School Equestrian team. His owner Mindy also rides him bridle less and competes in extreme mountain trail on him. His owner also owns Aspen. Vision is trained in the Fundamentals of Downunder Horsemanship Level 2. He is our demonstration horse for all events, a really nice horse to ride and be around, he loves people.

Born on April 12, 2018, Height:16.3 hands, Weight 1200 lbs

Rio just moved to the ranch in November of 2020. He was a race horse that never raced here at Emerald Downs in Washington. He is learning his fundamentals and will start in the program when he is fully trained. A gentle horse that is very curious and brave and is still growing!

Jake was born on April 16, 2009, and is 16.2 hands, and weighs 1400lbs. He is a Missouri Fox Trotter gelding that his owner Debbi Fisher, founder of the program found in the state of Missouri, she looked for over two years for this special horse, for this program. Jake is a confident trail horse, that can move out down the trail and be so very smooth to ride. He needs a quiet, gentle touch when grooming. He does seem to really like Veterans that wear a cowboy hat! He has a special necklace of rhythm beads he wears around his neck for riding, that he loves to wear.

Remington (Remmy) was born on March 15, 2003 and is the oldest horse in our program, he is 16.2 hands and weighs in at 1500 lbs. He is a Cleveland Bay/ Draft cross. He was a rescue horse that was going to be slaughtered when founder Debbi Fisher rescued him. At that time he was over 300 pounds underweight. With much love and good food Remmy is a very successful and a favorite with the Veterans. We know he used to belong to the Amish in Salem Oregon as a driving and plow horse. Remmy is trained to the saddle now and he loves going out on the trail with his Veterans. He only likes apples for his treats.

Smoochie is a Mustang that was born in 2011, we don’t have an exact date because he was a born in the wild. Smoochie is 15.2 hands and weighs 1000 lbs. His owner Christina Avey a Veteran that did a Veterans Mustang Gentling program in Texas, at the end of the program the Veterans were given the opportunity to adopt the mustang that they gentled. Founder Debbi Fisher helped Christina get Smoochie moved up from Texas to Oregon and then another move to here in Washington State. We are so grateful to Christina to let us lease Smoochie to help other Veterans. His name fits him well as he is quite the lover and will try to give you a smoochie kiss if you let him! He is a wonderful trail horse that loves riding at the beach or in the woods. He loves being groomed.

Beau is a Shire/Quarter Horse gelding that was born in 2014. Beau is 15.3 hands and 1400 lbs. and black with two hind white socks. His Owners Jim and Deb Christnacht are very pleased to share him with Veterans in our program. Not all horses are selected to be in our program. Deb shared with us that Beau is a “Healer” he has such a kind spirit about him. He will start helping Veterans after he completes his training with us in the Spring Session 2024. Beau used to compete with his owner in English and Western classes. He loves being out on the trail and will be an excellent fit to our program.
